Virgin Steele, bonafide metal legends are preparing to reissue their first two albums: Virgin Steele and Guardians Of The Flame on August 23rd.
With songs such as “Danger Zone,” “Dead End Kids,” and “Drive On Thru,” the debut album highlights the classic rock and metal roots of the band and gives lead singer David DeFreis the chance to show off his pipes. On later songs such as “Children Of The Storm,” and “Virgin Steele,” this is turned up to eleven and on the bonus tracks “Hell From Beyond The Stars,” and “The Fire God,” we get the hints of the legend that DeFreis will become.
On their second album Guardian Of The Flame, Virgin Steele advanced through the firmament and delivered the goods once more. Songs such as “Don’t Say Goodbye (Tonight),” and “Life Of Crime,” bring a sultry epicness to proceedings whilst the title track and “Metal City,” delve deep into the echoing firmaments of time.
These two albums helped pave the way for Virgin Steele, and thus their reissuing on 23rd August via Steamhammer/SPV is sure to be greeted with delight by fans.
