Beyond The Black-HØRIZØNS

“Horizons,”kicks things off for the new Beyond The Black album, and boy is it a corker. A song that hits some surreal heights, bringing about a twist and a change, whilst getting the blood pumping.

“Misery,” is anthemic. Jennifer Haben’s vocals are simply fantastic, the song really has a strong feeling to it. A get up and go and kick the doors down.

“Wounded Healer,” features Elize Ryd and delivers on the heaviness. Really pushing things to the limit and showing off just where they’re coming from. The exchange between Haben and Ryd is fantastic.

“Some Kind of Monster,” really hits the right note. The vocals are anthemic, the instrumentation builds up toward a crescendo and ensures that the listener is hooked from the get go.

“Human,” hits the ground running. A song that varies in delivery and speed, the acoustic guitar and Haben’s vocals really hit the right spot.

“Golden Pariahs,” the title track of the record is a feel good twist and shout. The song really captures the essence of what Beyond The Black is about, and it does it with a catchy melody and hook.

“Marching On,” takes a twist here, a turn there, and a shifting confluence around the bend.

“You’re Not Alone,” takes the symphonic route. A song that really aggrandises its way into the great beyond. A fantastic trip into the unknown.

“Out Of The Ashes,” slows things down. Haben’s vocals really guide the song and ensure that the listener is being treated to a complete about turn.

“Paralyzed,” works the audience. It builds them up, knocks them down, then raises them up again.

“Coming Home,” soars and turns. A song without an end, one that truly captures the spirit of the moment.

“I Won’t Surrender,” features Tina Guo, the legendary cellist simply excels. Everything about this song is legendary.

“Welcome To My Wasteland,” is the shredder in us all.
