- What inspired the name of the band and what are your influences?
We came up with our band name when we were very young, our oldest member must have been like 14 years old. We came up with it because we thought it sounded cool at the time and we’ve stuck with it ever since. We are influenced by many different artists. Stylistically, we draw influences from bands like Bring Me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, and Of Mice and Men. We are also tremendously influenced by bands like Slipknot and Korn as well. In addition, we also draw influences from artists outside our genre such as Post Malone and The Weeknd as well.
- How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to
explore when you start off?
When we write songs, it usually starts with one of us either coming up with a riff, melody, or lyric. Whoever comes up with it shows it to the rest of the band and then we just start jamming around it and see what we come up with. In terms of themes, we just write about what we happen to be going through in that particular moment in time in our lives. Whether one of us is dealing with a breakup, feeling angry about something, feeling happy about something, etc. we like to just get whatever we’re feeling off of our chest and try to make a good song out of it.
- Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
We write the sort of music that we do cause it has been the music that we have been drawn to since we were young. For everyone in the band, some of our earliest memories include listening to bands in our genre and watching their live performances. Another thing that
drives us to make this kind of music is the amount of energy it produces and the ability it has to hype up a crowd in a live performance setting as well.
- How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them
into that live setting?
We taylor our setlist based around the audience we will be playing for. If we know we’ll be playing for a crowd that tends to be a little more mellow, we will play our mellower songs. If we know that we are gonna be playing for a wild and crazy crowd, then we will play our more fast-paced and heavier songs, in order to get the crowd going.
- What are your plans for the future?
For the future, we are planning to write more music this summer, and eventually get into the studio to record it. In addition, we are continuing to play live as much as we possibly can, and trying to interact with as many fans of our music as we possibly can.
