STARTING OUT
It starts with a crack and a roar. It’s Visigoth, a band who are a bright spark in what might be a sometimes crowded field. They ooze class and command, as they enter their second decade they are a band who have the world at their feet. Classy grooves and a snake like charm to bring everyone together is their calling card.
Their debut album The Revenant King roared and mixed together elements of fantasy and pure hardcore metal, and showed that there was a path to delivering classic metal without the pomposity of some of their peers. The songs were stories that could be made into miniature movies.
Their second album Conqueror’s Oath continued the band’s journey and showed that they had advanced as had their brand of powerful anthemic metal. Something that is sorely needed in today’s dark world. On songs like “Steel and Silver,” “Traitor’s Gate,” and “Hammerforged,” they show that there is a way to get people pumped and screaming in the pit without the need for death and doom.
Visigoth are a band to keep an eye on. The 2010s were impressive, the 2020s are going to be huge.
