“The Free One,” kicks things off magnificently with a furious riff and the tremolo picking guitar lick floating on air. As the song progresses one gets to see the technical skill of the band alongside the appeal that the vocals have, an absolutely haunting opener.
“Sabbath,” the very name brings heaviness to mind, and the song is no different. It furiously pushes the limit, driving the listener to expand their mind and at the same time delivering a sneaky blow to the midriff.
“Fear and Despair,” brings together a mixed male and female lead. The result is a song that is downright haunting and in parts terrifying. A real chance to bring about something close to Van Helsing circa 2004.
“Burned By Love,” is a snarling monster. A song that shines through and delivers a crunching hit to the face for all involved.
“Last Breath,” snakes its way into being. The piano melody is simply divine, and the band pave their way through into something both unique and similar at the same time.
“War,” crackles with energy. The guitars lend credence to the view that this is something both epic and terrifying at the same time.
“Army of Dead,” is haunting and surreal. A song that takes the time to build things up in the listener’s mind, before slowly cracking down with a thunderous blow.
“Falling Star,” moves with passion and privilege, it shines brightly and turns the screws ever so slightly.
“Ghost Rider,” is a magnificent beast of a song. It veers completely from one edge to another, and shines a light on the chaos within.
“Falcon,” is a riff monster. A song that is surely meant to be listened to at full volume and enjoyed as such.
The album is out on 8th May via Rockshots Records.
