The Hu graced Glastonbury’s hallowed halls in June 2023, and listening to the setlist today brings back strong memories of a band storming an old fortress.

“Shihi Hutu,” starts things off. The instrumentality and the sheer aggression of the vocals shows that this is a band in full control of their powers and their audience. Immediately the listener is captivated and transported.

“Shoog Shoog,” gets the crowd moving and roaring. The Hu deliver a song that is meant to be immortalised. And boy is it immortalised. A shining example of chaos and power.

“Tatar Warrior,” slaps down the gauntlet. A song brimming with energy, anticipation and a call to the ancients. A driving force that never stops, never rests and brings all before it.

“Black Thunder,” snarls with the bite of time. A song that shifts through the deliverance and brings the chaos of the whirlwind.

“Yuve Yuve Yu,” dances the groove, bringing the shimmering tint of light and power through.

“This Is Mongol,” brings the getaway car. The anthem of time and tide. A song for all ages and purposes.

The Hu stormed Glastonbury in 2023 and they conquered it.

Be sure to get the album when it is released on 7th June via Better Noise.
