Fullbug

  1. What inspired the name of the band and what are your influences?

We were looking for a band name for some time.

Jessie, our drummer,  is a big Van Halen fan, and he came across their song “the full bug” and an interview with David Lee Roth, where he explains it’s a slang for “give it everything you got”. it was either this or “alison smack” 😉

  1. How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?

Most of the time, one of us comes up with a guitar riff and then we’ll go in the studio and see where it takes us, some of the time we’ll have a more concrete song structure with some lyrics to work with before going in. we try to approach every idea a bit different and see where can we do something we hadn’t tried before.

  1. Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

We’re big fans of rock music, it had a big influence on us as people and artists, we love playing our guitars and we like it loud most of the time. today it just feels natural that most of our ideas are rock oriented and it’s always about writing the next riff for us.

  1. How do you decide what songs to perform live?

if it’s a short set we’ll usually go with the most energetic songs we have. if it’s a long set, we’ll just do them all.

  1. What are your plans for the future?
