They combine traditional metal melodies and riffs with a Sci-Fi lyrical construction, to make the listener wonder WTF is going on and how they can get more of it. Skelator are back.
“Cyber Samurai,” is the perfect opening statement. A powerful galloping riff leads the song whilst the vocals shriek and rage to the melodies, ensuring the listener is hooked from the get go. Some powerful stuff right there. “Cast Iron,” develops into an interesting twist and turn, bringing some fascinating concepts to bear. The riffs are brilliant, and ruthless, the vocals once more set the tone nicely. “The Hammer,” mixes its way into being, with a steady riff beat, combined with a powerful twist and shout. “Highlander,” moves with rapid pace and agility, slowly shifting the dial up several notches. Melodies galore in this song.
“Akira,” comes bounding out of the stalls completely ready to turn the tables and rock the shit out of the listener. It moves quickly, with pace and agility turning the tide into a moshpit. “Erlkonig,” is another fast mover. Galloping with perfect melodies and a twisting turning mesh of riffs. “Seven Scars,” begins slowly and then turns into something heavy and bombastic, bringing down the true might of heaviness upon the listener. “Psychic Silver Wheels,” follows a similar trend, but with the keys setting the tone this time before giving way to something new and fresh.
The album is out on 14th June via Gates of Hell Records.
