“Event 201,”sets the scene quite nicely, filled with ominous melodies and darkened pathways.

“Lady Death,” starts things off properly, with a barrowing melody and a sauntering rhythm. Everything just clicks from the get go and the listener is left demanding more.

“Valhalla’s Gates,” delivers on that demand. A soaring tribute to the metal way with a powerful riff and a soaring vocal melody.

“Scrollkeeper,” takes a dip into the world of sci fi and embraces the wider world. The rhythms are sweeping, the vocal parts pulsate with life. Everything is in short set up for a good time.

“Auto Da Fe,” the title track of the album is structured in such a way as to bring life and power into proceedings. A song that dominates the periphery and shows off just what the band can do.

“Giles de Rais,” another snake of a song that shifts the tempo considerably. Bringing about a whirlwind of emotions and feelings that slowly show off where things are heading.

“Devil’s Calculus,” rolls in with a thundering riff and a powerful twist of the knife, showing off just where things are going and where the band is drawing influence from.

“Blood and Sand,” starts off slow before moving into overdrive.

“Surrender,” shifts the temperature up ever so slightly, swinging the bells and taunting the demon.

“Path To Glory,” works overtime to produce something quite so compelling.

“Fortune Favours The Bold,” drives a hard bargain.

“Hellion,” an ode to W.A.S.P. delivered with a freneticism that would make Blackie Lawless proud.
