Song / Album Composition
“Genesis,” features Brasstracks and brings the funky melodies to the fore. A song that cascades and charms the listener to get the head nodding. A strong opener.
“Playing God,” sets the tone, a song that weaves through melodies and turns. A song that hits the listener in the gut. The melodies turn and change, the guitars bring flamenco and shred to a soulful interweaving.
“The Audacity,” features Anomalie, and it turns into something refreshingly bright. A song that descends into obscurity and back out again, on the back of a funky bass rhythm.
“ABC,” features Sophia Black is eclectic, hitting a turn and bringing melody and verge together. Melodies interweave as the guitars and vocals lead and bring together an intriguing turn. The chorus is addictive, mixed together with the guitar rhythm. ABC truly is a lot of letters.
“Fuck Around and Find Out,” featuring $not belies its title, a song that beats through the crisscrossing of time and tide. A song that tilts and leans.
“Neurotica,” brings the bite. The guitars move in sync, the bass, provides a solid back drop and the drums thunder through.
“Bloodbath,” featuring Chino Moreno, hits a delicate tilt. The guitars ease in and bring something new and impressive forward. A certain haunting, a biting sense of the tide.
“Ego Death,” featuring the maestro himself, Steve Vai, hits a tilt and a turn. Subtle melodies bring a cause for celebration whilst the pre-eminence of the band mixes together with Vai’s own legendary skill to drive the whirlwind forward. A perfect finale.
If you’re a fan of the guitar and melody, and having a good time, be sure to get this record when it’s released via Rise Records on 28th October.
