Hailing from the land that gave us Volbeat, King Diamond and Mercyful Fate, Pectora are the new guns on the scene, ready to kick ass and take names.
“Untaken,” comes in big. The distortion kicks things off with some serious edge and bite. It leads from one angle, and then slowly shifts this way and that. The guitars are huge, the vocals are even bigger. A great opener. “Collide,” comes in fast. The vocals weave a narrative that continues to bring things to the fore. “Haunted Memory,” is reminiscent of Iron Maiden, in the way the melodies and lines shape themselves. Bringing things forward and then driving them down. “The Fare,” is classic rock and roll. Slowly shifting and changing, viewing things one way and then another.
“Running Out Of Days,” thunders, producing something entertaining and filled with joy. “Unkindled Flame,” snorts its way through with duel harmonising leads and ensuring that the listener is hooked on the simple melodies that weave themselves through. “No Regrets,” is a bluesy number, that ventures forth and backwards, on harmonised leads. “The Arrival,” finishes things off with heaviness.
