ASPECTS OF LIFE
What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences?
We actually had the first song we write together titled “LifeCycle” before we named the band, “LifeCycle.” A Black Sabbath- “Black Sabbath” kind of deal. As we wrote more music, a lot of what we were writing focused around aspects of life itself. When we realized the motto of that song was on point with what we generally write about, a light bulb went off. Make sure you check out our debut single “LifeCycle” on spotify and other digital platforms!
How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?
Songwriting usually starts off with a riff. We have a couple great guitarists in the band, Kevin & Joe. They bring an arsenal of dirty licks for us to trick. We throw it against the wall to see what sticks and thus begins the evolution process. Scott, our bassist and John our drummer jump on and work out the groove of the song. Once the music is worked out, Asim takes the newly delivered lullaby and helps it speak by laying down some lyrics. As far as themes go, we just try to stay true to the song. Essentially, music is just an emotion, so what comes out is what comes out. We believe that once a song is born, it becomes it’s own life. There is no room for ego, we do what is best for the song. This formula has worked extremely well for us so far and we have a ton of work we are getting ready to push out, so be ready! You check up on the latest at www.lifecycleband.com

MUSIC IS AN EMOTION
Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
We believe music is an emotion. Your ability to convey that emotion to the listener is key. It’s always in the back of our minds. We think that the expressiveness in art comes from mastery of the tool. Whatever your tool is, whether it be a paintbrush, guitar, chisel or whatever it is that frees your soul, when you no longer need to think while using your tool because it becomes a part of you, your mind does a lot of walking and that is where and why our music is what it is. When this band gets together, we have a focus, we have determination to be as transparent as possible with the emotion we are portraying through music. So the short answer is, we don’t have a choice in the sort of music we write, it just comes out.
How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into a live setting?
Our theory for live shows is that it needs to feel like more of a musical journey. We want our audience to be able to close their eyes and go for a ride with us. And when they do open their eyes, they will see 5 guys giving 110% on that stage. Our sets all have a certain life to them. The songs we pick, the order they are played all tell a story without having to verbally navigate the, “And the next song is….” waters that most bands tread around in. We want the music to do the talking.

WHAT WORKS
KEEP ON TRUCKING
What plans do you have for the future?
To buy multi-million dollar mansions, and to give fond memories to as many groupies as possible, Lol. Ok seriously though, our plans for the future are to keep on trucking. We all understand that building a band is more of a marathon than a sprint. We want to build a culture that people can truly connect with. We also have a ton of material that we will be releasing including our next single, “Burnout” which is dropping on all digital platforms in March so keep your eyes peeled. And while your eyes are peeled, make sure you check out our biweekly YouTube episodic series called, “A Day In The LifeCycle.” You can really get to know the band and learn fun tidbits about each one of us in that series, so tune in. Lastly, we are playing the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival this year on April 3rd alongside the headliner of the night, “New Found Glory.” Make sure you are there for great music and tons of the best craft beers in the country!
