What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

Drusuna (Lady of the Oak) is the name of a pre-Roman Iberian ancestral deity that is part of the Celtic mythology pantheon. She is associated with the protection of the forest and all the beings that dwell within it. This name immediately resonated with the musical and lyrical aesthetic I was creating at the time. Raw nature and ancestry are the fundamental sources of inspiration for my thematic and lyrical explorations. I am profoundly captivated by imagining a time when humanity existed in direct harmony with the earth and its ancient mysteries.

How do you approach songwriting?

My creative process is primarily inspired by the rawness of nature. The sounds of the natural world or the beauty of a striking landscape. I’m deeply attracted by the concept of a primordial era, raw yet perfectly balanced between all living and non-living entities. I frequently immerse myself in reading about history, anthropology, mythology, and similar subjects, as I find them to be valuable sources of knowledge and inspiration for my work.

Why?

I write music inside this theme because it provides me with a space to explore introspective idealism, escapism and where I can blend the tangible with the imaginary. I have always been captivated by wild nature and its mysteries, and the forest has consistently been the place where I find genuine peace, both with myself and with the strong solitary aspect of my personality. While I enjoy meeting interesting new people, it is in the forest that I truly feel at home.

live?

At the moment, I have no plans for live performances in the near future, despite occasionally receiving invitations to events. However, whenever I’ve performed live, I’ve always prioritized blending the music’s aesthetics with visual elements such as decoration, theatricality, choreography, and ritualistic aspects. I believe these elements are essential to bringing a conceptual performance to life. Drusuna has never been just a band on stage; it has always been a deeply conceptual act designed to offer a fully immersive experience.

What plans do you have for the future?

I don’t have a fixed vision for the project’s future; instead, I’ll continue creating music as a personal form of escapism and keep sharing my creations with gratitude and joy to everyone who finds any type of connection with it.
