What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?
As a solo artist performing under my own name, Austin Mulka, the inspiration for my “band” name was quite straightforward. As for my musical influences, they span across several eras and genres. For my upcoming album, Reveries and Requiem, my inspiration is heavily drawn from the 90s grunge scene, specifically bands like Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters. Outside of that realm, some of my broader influences include legendary artists like Michael Jackson, Queen, and The Beatles, as well as innovative singer-songwriters like Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple.
How do you approach songwriting and why?
My approach to songwriting varies from song to song, but it often begins with a concept, a melody, or a specific lyrical phrase. From there, I allow the song to grow organically, often drawing from personal experiences or broader themes that resonate with me. In my work, I am keen to explore themes that revolve around human emotions, life experiences, and social commentary.
I write the kind of music that speaks to me, both as an artist and as a listener. It’s important to me that my music is authentic and reflects my experiences, thoughts, and emotions. I believe this authenticity is what allows listeners to connect with my work on a deeper level.

How do you decide what to perform live?
Deciding what songs to perform live largely depends on the set and the audience. I strive to create a balance between energetic songs and slower, more introspective ones to keep the show dynamic. Transposing them into a live setting involves a lot of rehearsal and sometimes rearranging to best suit the live performance environment.

What plans do you have for the future?
Looking ahead, my plans include finishing up my upcoming album, Reveries and Requiem, and eventually taking these new songs on the road. I am also constantly writing and generating ideas for future projects. It’s my hope to continue growing as an artist, reaching new audiences, and creating music that resonates with people.
