“Post Truth Era,”opens up V the new album by Havok. It is an absolute rager which pays homage in its intro to Metallica before unleashing absolute carnage. The song rages against the corrupt, the liars and the fools who buy into their nonsense, whilst talking of the fake news endemic sweeping the world. A fitting song for these troubled times.
“Fear Campaign,” sees Havok continue on their rabid onslaught into the world of fear mongering. A song that rages all the harder due to its possessive qualities and the absolute shredding nature of the guitar performances.
“Betrayed By Technology,” has a stop start mode that really captures the band and the message they’re trying to get across. Flawlessly executed.
“Ritual Of The Mind,” swaggers into being. A song that bites and barks and enables Havok to truly cut the cord.
“Interface with Infinite,” a song that rattles and hums with power and prowess. A song that truly kicks things up a gear.
“Dab Tsog,” roars and thunders and delivers a crushing blow to the central mass of the modern world.
“Phantom Force,” is another absolute rager of a song. It ventures into unknown portions and destroys any preconceived notions that the listener might well have had. A song that tears at the fabrics of the world and ensures Havok will be held up in the pantheon.
“Cosmetic Surgery,” is a complete and utter rager of a song, one that goes to the depths of thrashing madness.
“Panpsychism,” is haunting and ethereal, it takes the listener on a journey and allows them to truly embrace the mystical elements of the world.
“Merchants of Death,” ramps up the speed once more, unleashing the cult of hell on all and battering down the doors of resistance.
“Don’t Do It,” is haunting, a tempest, a song that cuts loose at turns before moving back into its box only to unleash hell once more. A fitting finale.
The album is out on 1st May via Century Media.
