Evergrey, the progressive metal legends return with a brand spanking new album entitled Escape Of The Phoenix.
“Forever Outsider,” starts things off with a battering ram to the gut. It pushes into being, slashing through pre-conceived notions to dismantle and disarm everyone and everything.
“Where August Mourns,” brings in the heavy. Turning on the cornerstone of a knife. It slants through, delivering the absolute destruction of certainty and pitifulness.
“The Beholder,” slashes the ground, stepping through a stilted turnstile of pain and grace. Working through the shattered bounds of time, it pushes the whirlpool forward.
“Eternal Nocturnal,” pushes the rambunctious divide forward. The heaviness of the riffage is matched by the sheer epicness of the vocal lines that twist and contort through the nightmare scenarios of time.
“Escape From The Phoenix,” rolls the punches. Shifting through a tempestuous wind, it delivers something tangible and real. Pulsating across the whirlwind of time and across the boundaries of the mind.
“Run,” finishes things off, shifting the temperature up and delivering something fitting for a finale.
