“Winterrider,” kicks things off with an ambitious melody being hammered out on the keys, the guitars then kick in and drive things through. Soon enough the melodies are all there, throwing themselves together to ensure the listener is hooked. “Juhannus in January,” takes things even further with the sort of Christmas melody one might expect at well Christmas, but throwing it in in a song released in September is quite something. The party truly has begun and the atmosphere is bombastic. “Chainlace Angel,” finishes off quite nicely, taking the time to shift through the edge and bringing the head banging melody to the fore. “Actraiser,” is another song that just completely stomps on anything else. Ensuring the leads are put to the forefront and everyone knows where to turn. “Cold Night Remedy,” adds an element of darkness to proceedings, slowly shifting through and delivering a thunderous punch.
“Above the Treeline.” symphonic at its best, allowing the melodies to cascade around and deliver something quite fortuitous. “Brandy and Antifreeze,” is humorous whilst also displaying some awesome skills that shift through and deliver a thud. “Die Young,” is a soaring monster of a song. “Darkwoods Drain Backwaters,” is anthemic slowly moving through on the edge of quite the platform that brings about some interesting changes and chemistry. “A Whisper In A Frozen Tale,” is a great ending and shows the talent and multiple layers to this band.
The album is out on 6th September via Rockshots Records.
