Hailing from London, this three piece band pack a punch. They’ve played with Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and by God do they show why they’ve earned a reputation as one of the outstanding bands to come out of the scene in recent times.
“Wild Flowers,” kicks things off with a searing riff. It dances across the listener’s palette, and when the drums come in there’s a real feeling that something special is about to come. The song continues with a driving feel throughout and sets the tone well. “Dark Horse,” gets a bit dirtier and heavier, shifting through the tone and bringing with it something crucial to the pantheon. “Shadows,” hammers down, grooving and snarling, bringing the pace and the joy. “Sweet Talk,” swaggers in with grace and pace. It takes a turn here and there. “Cantankerous,” is heaviness incarnate, shifting through the gears and bringing about something akin to a revolution. “Vacation,” takes it back to the rockers paradise, winning through the ties that bind.
“Is This The Way,” slows things down slightly, weaving the context together, to bring something fascinating to the fore. It allows for a feeling of sense and grief to permeate through the listener. “When You Come Around,” goes big. With fat riffs and a snaking charm that brings out some serious batshit heaviness for all involved. “First Impressions,” continues to snake through. A riff as heavy as that, deserves kudos and testament to the virtues of aggression. “Detached,” takes it on and keeps going throughout and all. “When I’m Gone,” slows things down slightly, allowing for the introduction of change and growth. “Soma,” gets heavy and shifts the tone massively.
The album is out on 15th July.
