“The Ninth Templar,” is brutal and efficient, it sets the tone for what is to come, slowly moving through and growing with intensity that delivers itself quite nicely for the listener. “Key of Solomon,” is simply epic, it ventures through the darkened abyss and brings about some fascinating melodies and changes. It weaves its way through the listener’s mind and into greatness. “Our Reverend’s Grave,” brings about a thunderous applause. A strong central riff guides the way as the listener slowly gets hooked into the melodies. “Epochal Vestiges,” shifts the tone slightly, bringing a sense of anticipation to the fore, and driving the narrative down one way and then another. “Christ Is Dead,” is fervent and brutal, bringing with it a sharp pull and push.
“The Snake Handler,” takes a sharp turn here and there. Bringing about some interesting new elements, it shifts the tone every so slightly. Veering one way and then the next. “Oath of Exile,” is slow, haunting and then a blistering assault on the senses. It delivers where all expect it, with booming melodies and guitar riffs. “Enslave The Heathens,” roars with the sense of victory, ensuring that the listener knows where the next big live hit is going to come from. “Beneath The Torchfire Glare,” slowly weaves its way into the fabric and the narrative, twisting and turning away. “The Ruins Of Fading Light,” is a snarling beast, twisting through and shifting the poles through to greatness.
The album is out on 13th September via Dark Descent Records.
