What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?
We had a lot of discussions and, above all, exchanged ideas. That’s where “Crimson Pride” came from. The band’s name has different meanings, but the most important thing to us, is what it means to each and everyone. Maybe the most important axis to develop would be that we are all human, we all bleed, we all laugh, we all make mistakes, we all learn. If it had to come down to one sentence, this one would pretty much be it.
Each member has a lot of influences and its own musical experiences, ranging from classical music, jazz, to more powerful and dark metal. It’s even more difficult to give a specific band name. We could mention Avenged Sevenfold, Billy Talent, Rage Against The Machine, Disturbed, Tool, and so on. Some of us really enjoy bands like Pink Floyd, Airbourne, or the Eagles, to mention names outside of metal.
How and why do you approach songwriting?
There are different ways to write or create a song. It can be only “musical”. Some riffs or melodies that inspire us for example. And then, listening to them, we note how the music affects us and what kind of message we want to share.
The other way is to begin with a message we want to share. It can also be an idea or a feeling we experienced. In this way, you act like a “researcher” who tried to find the best tones, or notes, or rhythms to express your message.
To give an answer, I would say that we do not restrain ourselves to a specific theme, it is more how we feel.
Like we said earlier, each member has a lot of different influences. But there is one genre we all love above all : metal. Our songs are then a mix of all our influences and metal. We love heavy guitars! Some songs can also be more rock’n’roll like Entertain Me or orchestral/theatrical, like Crimson Night.

How do you decide what to play live?
It depends on different factors. The duration of the show, the audience, the equipment we can use, and so on. We have now enough songs to modulate our shows and we adapt to the venue.
We can also perform the song differently, depending on the order in which we play them, and what we want to give to the audience.

What plans do you have for the future?
Performing live and create a new album, to be simple. We still have new things to share within our last album, like a new videoclip, but we are already working on the next album. And, of course, maybe the most important thing, play anywhere we can!
