ADAPTABILITY
What inspired the name of the band and what are your influences?
We wanted something that represented strength but also adaptability. Stone Sea came out as a mix of both once they oppose but also complete each other in a way.
Many bands had a great impact on us so it isn’t fair to point out just a few, but the major names are probably Black Sabbath and Nirvana.
How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?
Vocalist Elivs: I really like to explore my own mind, It seems there’s always something to be discovered there. It’s kinda funny because many times I write lyrics I don’t necessarily know what I’m talking about until a later stage of my life where I’m like “oh, so I was talking about this”. But overall human connection, subconsciousness, feelings. Anything is too abstract we transform into lyrics and waveforms.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
It’s the best way of getting to know more of ourselves as individuals. And when we sit and discuss or jam our ideas we are still, working as a single unity, organism. In a way it’s a form of understanding and exploring the extension of our beings in the universe.
How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?
It depends on some factors such as: what is the venue and what kind of audience they usually host, what is the line up of bands and artists. We tend to adapt our repertory according to the environment we are playing but we will always play the songs Mystify and Prelude because those are songs we just love to play and you have to deal with it.

What plans do you have for the future?
For the near future we have:
-A music video from an alternative version of Dream Song we are about to release,
-Another music video from a new song we already recorded
-Currently working on some new songs to record a new album and
-To support this album we may go out on a European tour by 2021.
