What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?
The name SlowKiss has a romantic origin… It came from as the word says: a slow kiss, those you give and time stops and everything is filled with colors and sensations. That’s how the band was born. Regarding our influences, more than something specific is a mixture of everything. We love music and rock. That’s why we like the Alternative tag, because we like to play and experiment on our records, being free and moving as we go, where we feel comfortable as we grow up and what’s going on around us. They say we’re a bit dark, I think that fits us.
How do you approach songwriting?
Almost always the lyrics flow from some experience or situation that has inspired us and has given us the need to talk about it. We’re interested in protest and discontent, we always talk about women, but we also like to have the freedom to speak metaphorically or talk about death, our interior or the depths of how we feel.

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
Because we are interested in being the consolation or the voice of many who feel that they are lost and that they are alone in this hostile and superficial world that they cannot change.
How do you decide what songs to perform live?
We have several reasons for putting together a setlist. We often have a fixed one for each tour with the freedom of a couple of changes at the end of the show feeling the different vibes of the different audiences. Normally we also order it by tuning so we don’t have to tune so often or change so many guitars. But the most important thing is that we like to give you a trip and keep you entertained so the dynamics of the songs are very important to keep the attention and follow the mood. We try to shake the people up.

What plans do you have for the future?
The next thing to come is the release of our new album called K.O, a journey from a dark world to the return of light. This album is very important to us because it was quite a challenge and it’s been the most difficult that we’ve done and with which we decided to definitively leave Chile to the world. Also as in a dream, in addition to some talented people, it has Ted Jensen, one of our sound idols. We hope to release the first single and its video clip soon. And also, we have a new European tour coming up for this summer 23′ so we can’t be more grateful and excited for what’s to come.
