We are releasing singles as well as albums so much is going on. Lots of recording.  For the song “School’ Out” originally done by Alice Cooper, we were so excited when we were able to share the stage with him.  Blown away by his stage theatrics, more than anyone we’ve ever played with and that’s a lot of bands, (See the list below). So it’s our way to pay tribute to him with one of our favorite Alice Cooper songs. I think the reader can expect a really cool Leaving Eden interpretation and enjoy an old song with a totally new vibe.

What was the hardest part about putting the track together?

Learning the material and trying to stay true to the original essence of the song while putting our Leaving Eden stamp on it. I think the production is top notch and that’s always something that takes work and time. I serve as the Producer, recording engineer and mixer. We record in Leaving Eden’s recording studio and after the first mix, I send it to my good friend Johnny K. (Disturbed) for the finishing touches and Mastering. We absolutely love recording in our own studio because we can spend as much time as we choose.  We can really take the time that we want to work on the production and get it exactly the way we want it.

What do you want the song to do for the representation of Leaving Eden?

I think breathing some new life into the song with Eve singing it, so we have the female lead vocal that really adds a new dimension.  All of the music performed by myself, Jake and Alyssa came from our own interpretation of the original song.  I think the end result is a heavier feel, but, of course, keeping to the original vibe.

How would you say the sound of Leaving Eden has changed/progressed since you first started out?

I think everything evolves naturally. I always remember it’s the artists, the ones out there that are doing it, the trendsetters, the tip of the spear in terms of what people are and will be listening to. Everyone’s influenced by someone and you can hear and see those influences.  I’m trying to keep things simple in some cases for instance, we’ll always be progressive but as someone once said to me in the studio, “ACDC man, 4 on the floor, simple”.
