Interview with Frau Fleischer
Interview with Frau Fleischer
What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences?
Gabriel Daimon : Thank you so much for having us, it’s so great be part of this!
Well, the idea of Frau Fleischer came in after the first quarantine. I had some friends in common with Franz Schultz and they all wanted us to meet, to talk about music and our projects. So one evening I went to this friend’s house and I was drinking a beer with Vdrey, the artist behind the cover of SACRIFICE (our first single available everywhere ahahah) and we were doing make up and trying some outfits and I had a pink wig, fishnet stockings and some dark eyeshadow and Franz came in from work and saw this crazy show happening in his living room and apparently he liked it! We spoke about the projects we were working on and the idea of this Frau Fleischer came in so roughly that we decided to join our worlds, with Greg Lambert from Notheist, and see what could come from this.
This experience is very far from what I have been doing until now, I come from the musical theatre and the pop rock scene and this industrial rock metal sound was very aggressive to me at first but I directly felt it was representing me in that moment. Franz asked me to put some words on a rough instrumental base and well, I liked doing it!
How do you approach songwriting?
Gabriel Daimon: I like to spend some time alone, drinking whiskey, smoking cigarettes and writing thoughts, playing chords on the piano, watching deep inside the mirror trying to understand something about this damn life. I’d call it the best feeling ever when your mind just goes and starts giving the world something that really belongs to you, this beautiful river of inspiration that makes the world a little less hard.
Greg Lambert : To me it’s all about adding the spices between the machines & the human element aka the singing. To do this, it’s all about getting in the zone, putting the song on repeat and just playing everything that comes to mind, like some kind of automatic writing process.
Then I listen back, keep the best ideas and record the final version of the guitars.

Are there any themes that you seek to explore when writing?
Gabriel Daimon: I think we have been doing for the moment something that really is raw and explicit, that comes in an unpolished way and really talks directly about some aspects of this society that really are this way, raw and explicit, just like a piece of meat thrown on a white canvas. Frau Fleischer is a political statement that needs no party, we are not just that piece of meat used and abused, but you’ll see more in the next months!
How has the pandemic impacted you?
Gabriel Daimon: I think that in this very crazy year we all had to really try to understand the situation and put respect all over ‘cause now more than ever we really need each other. It is not easy, it can be very hard to stand alone and face yourself the whole day, maybe for weeks or months, but people are dying and we owe everybody this kind of respect. Making music is something that helped us during this year and SACRIFICE is like our baby born in hard times that’s screaming this real need of living life we all have in some way experienced!
Greg Lambert : the pandemic put a lot of stress & frustration and I think Frau Fleischer is a good way to let go of all the anger and negative feelings from our guts. That being said hopefully we will be able to play live in 2021 and meet all of our friends again !
Gabriel Daimon : And for sure we will be live in 2021 and we’re already working on that, but until that moment you’ll be able to listen to Sacrifice and our next releases on the following links, thank you for your support, it’s really important to us!
