An interview with TJ from Deathchant
An interview with TJ from Deathchant
What inspired the name of the band and your musical style?
Deathchant was actually the name of my record label and distro from years ago. Our musical style is just kind of an amalgamation of all the different things that I listen to, I don’t really write with any particular style in mind.
How did you approach writing the new record? Did it deviate from previous writing sessions?
The new record was written with guitar harmonies in mind and a twin guitar live setting. The lyrical themes are similar to record one and I write songs very sporadically and randomly. I don’t think I’ve ever sat down to write a song and written anything decent – shits just gotta kinda come to ya naturally.

Which song are you most looking forward to playing live?
We’ve already played all the songs on record to live and have done a couple cool speakeasy shows in the desert. We look forward to playing the Brand New shit we’re working on now in a live setting. With that said I very much love playing holy roller cuz it’s got a bit of everything.
What plans do you have for the future?
Tour forever
