Alcatrazz-Born Innocent

Alcatrazz, the legendary band from the eighties are dusting off the cobwebs and returning to deliver something new and exciting in their new album Born Innocent.

“Born Innocent,” comes in like a whirlwind. A song that shows that though Alcatrazz have been gone for some time the magic is still there. Graham Bonnet’s voice is simply ethereal, and the guitars are thunderous. A true opening statement.

“Polar Bear,” is a raging storm. A song that carries some neo-classical influences alongside some melodical highpoints leads the shift. The vocals are truly powerful and the story being narrated is fascinating.

“Finn McCool,” powers through. A song that leads the way in terms of melody and depth. A brilliant reminder of how far Alcatrazz can go.

“We Still Remember,” is a slow and haunting tune, a song that enables the guitars to truly lead from the front, whilst the vocals come in for the kicker.

“London 1666,” the story of the Great Fire, of madness and chaos. Graham Bonnet is on fire throughout this song, his twists and turns deliver a sharp blow to the madness within and unleash all sorts of emotions.

“Dirty Like The City,” goes into hard rocker territory. The riffs blend together to produce something quite magical, the organ takes a turn at the wheel and the results are simply fantastic.

“I Am The King,” is defiant. A song that brims with emotion and fills everything it covers with aggression and passion. This has to become a live standout for Alcatrazz.

“Something That I Am Missing,” starts grooving hard. It continues off the back of an impressive riff that saunters in and grabs the listener by the neck.

“Paper Flags,” moves with grace and fortitude. The song takes a life of its own, galloping along the pathway as the story unfolds before the listener. A truly enrapturing song.

“The Wound Is Open,” darkens the sun, and twists the knife in. Bonnet’s vocals on this song are simply superb, they delve deep into the psyche and end up producing an Alcatrazz song that carries everything.

“Body Beautiful,” is filled with fantastic riffs. Indeed, the song could be called an homage to the riff with how many well crafted riffs are thrown together to produce a magical song.

“Warth Lane,” takes a turn and delivers the epic build up for a crescendo finish.

“For Tony,” finishes things off nicely.
