“Faceless,” starts things off, hauntingly at first, before slowly shifting the tone and the texture. The guitars come barrelling out of the gate, and soon enough the listener is captivated into something quite enchanting, especially when the piano works its way into the view. “Soulshaker,” has elements of the combined and the darkness. It weaves through the lines, slotting melodies this way and that, and then turning the knife into something quite compact. “Imprisoned In Flesh,” takes a dart, shifting this way and that, slowly working through the complexion and weaving a painting that fills the listener with an edge. “Shifting Shape,” works its way into the grand territory, working through the melodies and the minutes, before shifting the landscape and working into something new and refreshing. “Among the Ruins,” takes a dart and a nibble here and there. It fills the listener with a sense of something more to come, before darting into the line of the great escape. “Clouded Horizon,” a song that is filled with great elements, taking the tone through the line and then building on through the great expanse. “The Unknown,” has the heaviest riff on the album so far, filled with energy and grace, moving the tone slightly, this way and that, and breaking through the mould.
“Hermetic,” pounds the pavement. The listener gets the feeling that the edges are lined with pain and movements toward distraction. Perfectly captured within the wider world. “Shedding Skin,” whirls through, taking the dart and the bite, this way and that, shifting the scope of things and then working them into being. “Damnation,” works through the whirlwind and the vocals perfectly capture this, working their way into the pockets of resistance and growing them completely. “Invisible,” slows things down, allowing a mere moment of reflection before the onslaught continues. It takes with one hand and grows with the other. “Bleeding Me Dry,” whirls through the wind, and takes with ever increasing frenzy, a moment that Symphony X would be proud of. “Eye of Destruction,” ramps things up and delivers on the edge.
The album is out on 11th October via Rockshots Records.
