“The Flame of My Soul,” kicks things off. It is both melodic and intimidating. The introduction sounds like a choral hymn, whilst the guitars and the shredding fantasies in the back set things up quite nicely for the spiritual charge of the new metal religion. “Qumran Caves,” is a nice little sojourn into the unknown, taking a heavy and fast bass riff, before shifting the tone and developing into a heavy metal shred fest. “In The Sky of Athens,” is an absolute riff monster, taking the time to shift things through and drive everything into one direction, that direction being complete control over the agenda. “The Human Tide,” pounds into town, with the rolling riffs and the drumbeats to match. A twisting and smashing collective that throttles things through and then winks at you. “Over the Moon,” soars through on epic wings, with the vocals shining through as a masterpiece, whilst the guitars take a backseat and set the scene rather than overriding everything. “The End is Near,” is a dark ode to the chaos of the world. Setting quite the gloomy image, it soars along, with the riffs setting the image and the tone. The vocals work their magic and set things into the scene quite nicely.
“Golden Knights,” thunders into town, the riffs are simply seismic and everything else is a whirlwind onto the forge of eternity. “Sad Song For A Dead Child,” is a whirling pool of energy and chaos. The vocals paint the dark imagery of the title, whilst the instrumentation takes things onto the wider context of the world. “Soundtrack of My Existence,” a galloping, thunderous ode to the pain of the world and existing within it. A song that delivers on the dreams of every metalhead who wants something this discordant. “A Perfect World,” finishes things up quite nicely. It starts quite slowly, working into the world and then smashes down the doors and barriers with chaos and joy.
The album is out on 1st November via Rock of Angels Records.
