1. What inspired the name of the band and what are your influences?
Well to us our name is more like an alternative to the ordinary, more like rebelion of freedom, do what you wanna do, even if it includes you to stray from the system, it’s about the only thing you can do in today’s world, so if Black Income is your way out, do it, you only live ones.. when it comes to influences we go a long way from the more Punky and stoned energy to the more melodic stuff, but sure we listen to alot of bands like Soundgarden, queens of the stone age, fu manchu, nirvana, foo fighters etc.
2. How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?
Hmm we don’t have like a certain theme that we go for… mainly it’s our vocalist Henrik who writes the song ideas, before we jam on the idea…. and as we work along things come together, and we can more or less determine from the way the song progress comes along, what this song is about on the lyrics part, and what suits it best… it’s very important to us, that music and lyrics fit like a glove.
3. Why do you write the sort of music that you do?
Rock music in general has so much to offer, the whole scene is all about love, in our experience. We have been playing for many years, and you don’t find any other genre in music, that have suck dedicated and kind fans, tell when we play live, and things come together with the band, the venue, the fans… everything takes off to a higher level, and that’s what Rock and Metal music is all about… love it.
4. How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?
Uhhh tough one.. hehe.. Well we have a couple of songs from the last album Noise Pollution like Everything and Favorite Gasoline both were released singles and many of our fans know them, so we won’t get past them… but the other tracks on the setlist is normally what we feel like playing, sometimes it depends on the gig, we usually play different sets if its a festival or a Venue gig, its two different things.
5. What are your plans for the future?
Well with the release of our new album ‘unSOUND’ on the 23’th of August, we play just one Release gig in Denmark this fall, we have a tour in the pipeline for 2020 so we will hit the road at that time, until then we have a few stealth projects coming out, and we start recording our next album this vinter, so we’re really looking forward to that.
