What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences and are they the same as when you started out?

The name “Vulgarithm” came from a brainstorm on the drive to work one day. It comes together as 3 parts; The vulgarity of the sound, the groovy rhythms and the algorithm that brings it all together.

Songwriting and why

Nothing is off limits, I will always start with a riff or a synth groove, build everything around that, sing a melody of gibberish and if that works, then lyrics come after. I will take on all subjects, maybe with a hint of sarcasm and satire keep the fun in my music, but everything is genuine.
I’ve had such a varied collection of influences right from an early age, taking in pretty much all genres, but the 2 genres that get me out of my seat are metal and dance, so it was only obvious to combine the two.

Live

My songs are pretty varied so I can adjust for most line ups, for the very heavy or even the pop. My live show is very visual, with screens, projections and also costumes and mask too. People don’t forget what they see.

What plans do you have for the future?

A debut album in the new year hopefully, everything is more or less finished, just have to do some final tweaking.
