Tankard are a seminal thrash metal band, famous for their hard hitting music and their associated image. On their For A Thousand Beers boxset, we get the chance to hear why.

Songs such as “Total Addiction,” and “Don’t Panic,” immediately get the listener hooked. Whilst songs such as “For A Thousand Beers,” and “Traitor,” slam down hard enough to get the groove going and get a fair few moshpits flying.

“Zombie Attack,” and “Maniac Forces,” show the band at their developing crucible. A band that are slowly weaning through the sonnets and crushing the tide.

“TV Hero,” and “Feed The Lohocla,” show a band emerging into a comforting blitzkrieg of emotion and torrents, snarling and biting their way through.

“The Meaning of Life,” and “The Morning After,” are stands outs on disc four, songs that immediately get a groove going and show off just how far the band have come.

“Stone Cold Sober,” hammers through the stratosphere, taking the listener to a higher plain. Whilst “Of Strange Talking People Under Arabian Skies,” explores another new range method.

“Two Faced,” shows a band that have verged into somewhat more aggressive standards. Slowly swaggering through into a deepened groove. “Mainhatten,” slams down hard as well.

“Grave New World,” slams down hard and sets the tone for disc seven. Whilst “Poshor Golovar,” hits the new strands.

The box set is out on 25th February via BMG. Be sure to get it!
