An interview with Helestios

What inspired the name of the band? What are your influences?

The musical influences are pretty typical to those who are head to toes in the realm of metal gods – to outline few – Metallica, Megadeth, Sepultura, Death and so forth. The other influences are probably fair to say a mix of other kind of interests and hobbies and current reality events. So no wonder we’ve got lyrical themes ranging from ancient mythologies to modern days stuff that we thought should be talked about a lot more than it is.

How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?

Yes sure, the main idea is to be able to find middle ground between what we can play technically and what sounds really good to the ear. I really admire many technical guitar players and other musicians and it’s awesome to have this crazy variety of people who come up with so many different ways of expressing themselves, for us though the target is to be able to enjoy playing what we’re playing and at the same time it should be accessible to the listener.

How do you approach songwriting? Are there any themes that you are keen to explore when you start off?

Why do you write the sort of music that you do?

We take our time and don’t rush it – that’s one. Right now after we’ve released our debut album we’ve got quite few people writing to us on different social media and asking is there anything else coming out soon – it’s awesome to have this kind of interest and I always have the same answer really – yes there will be more stuff from Helestios and no it won’t come our ASAP. We’ll focus on quality of music so that people can appreciate and enjoy it and to be honest – it really does take time to think of all the little things that eventualy develpos into what’s called a good metal album! How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?

We don’t really have much trouble playing live, but as we know right know everything is very closed due to this absolutely deadly plague that’s been out there for over a year now. I don’t want to go into details about the virus itself, but you don’t have to be any kind of expert to see the poor management and solution finding to all this. Or rather I shall say – it seems that there are certain interests to prolong this event. And it has nothing to do with safety of people.

How do you decide what songs to perform live and how do you transpose them into that live setting?

What plans do you have for the future?

So basically we’re constantly keep doing something, whether it’s a video type of thing or composing new songs for next album. And next album will be coming out for sure when the time comes! Obviously we’re following events and hopefully soon enough there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and we can do live performances! As for now we’re wishing everyone stay focused, don’t panic and stand up for your rights or they can be taken away without a notice!
